 What is the MSCFP?

Benefits & Funding

• Up to €20,000 for tuition costs.

• Up to €20,000 for living expenses (accommodation, subsistence, etc.).

• Internship opportunity for up to 12 months, facilitated by IAEA or partner organizations to gain practical experience.

Who Is Eligible

To qualify for the MSCFP, you generally must satisfy these requirements:

• Be a female candidate.

• Be from an IAEA Member State.

• Be accepted to or enrolled in a Master’s programme at an accredited university, in a field related to nuclear science, technology, safety, security, non-proliferation, radiation biology, nuclear law, or similar.

• Have above average academic credentials: e.g. GPA ≥ 3.0/4.0 or marks equivalent to ~75% or higher.

Timeline & Application Process

• The application period for the MSCFP generally opens on 1 September each year.

• Applicants must complete and submit the online application before the deadline which is typically in late September or October.

• Required documents include:

  • Admission/acceptance letter or proof of enrolment in the Master’s programme.Statement of tuition fees or confirmation of tuition cost.

  • Valid passport or national ID.

  • Letters of recommendation (at least one mandatory, second preferred).

  • All documents must be in or translated into English.

Things to Note

• The scholarship is competitive; selection is based on academic merit, motivation, and relevance of study to IAEA priorities.

• If you already have another scholarship, you must declare it; IAEA may reduce its support accordingly.

• Some costs or expenses outside what the scholarship covers may need your own arrangements.
