Job Title: Farm Worker

Position Summary
IITA is seeking hardworking, reliable, and dedicated Farm Workers to join its agricultural operations team. The ideal candidates will support various farm activities including land preparation, planting, irrigation, harvesting, and maintenance of crops.
Successful candidates will work closely with researchers, supervisors, and technical staff to ensure high productivity and efficient farm management in line with IITA’s agricultural standards.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in day-to-day crop production and field maintenance activities.

Operate and maintain basic farm tools and equipment safely.

Support planting, weeding, fertilization, and harvesting operations.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of farm areas and storage facilities.
-
Monitor crop health, report pest infestations or diseases to supervisors, and assist in pest control activities.

Follow safety procedures and environmental conservation practices on the farm.

Support research trials and data collection activities when required.
Requirements

Minimum of SSCE / OND or equivalent qualification.

Prior experience in farming or agricultural fieldwork is an advantage.

Ability to perform manual labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

High level of honesty, discipline, and dedication to assigned tasks.
