Job Summary

SPDC is seeking a driven and analytical SC Inventory Analyst to join the Supply Chain / Contracting & Procurement team. The role is responsible for ensuring effective planning, optimization, and governance of materials across Shell Companies in Nigeria. You will manage critical material requirements, maintain optimal stock levels, and support multiple business units—including Wells, Engineering, Chemicals, Lubricants, and Production—by ensuring timely material availability and compliance with global standards.

In this role, you will report to the Supply Chain Operations RTP Lead. You will need strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with inventory systems, and a passion for driving operational efficiency in a complex and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Here are the core obligations and duties you will handle:

• Perform material requirements planning (MRP) and manage over USD $600 million worth of inventory across Shell Nigeria assets.

• Forecast demand and replenish stock; maintain optimal inventory levels using forecasting tools.

• Set up, monitor, and manage inventory parameters such as MRP types, minimum/maximum levels, and safety stock.

• Drive inventory optimization by identifying excess, dormant, and obsolete stock; prepare and manage write-off proposals.

• Ensure material availability for critical operations including turnarounds, shutdowns, and maintenance events.

• Oversee material master data: code and manage new material masters; ensure master data standardization and integrity in SAP systems.

• Produce inventory performance metrics and reports (monthly, quarterly, annual dashboards) for management and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with procurement, expediting, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure end-to-end material availability.

• Act as focal point for Integrated Activity Planning & Scheduling (IAPS) to align material availability with operational schedules.

• Participate in global data integrity initiatives, perform material integrity reviews and obsolescence cleanup.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, the candidate should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a closely related field.

• 2 to 6 years of proven experience in inventory management, materials planning, or MRP, preferably in the oil & gas sector.

• Strong working knowledge of SAP MM and other inventory management or ERP tools.

• Excellent analytical skills: ability to interpret data, generate insights, optimize stock performance; experience driving process improvement.

• Experience in material coding, standardization, and maintaining master data within ERP systems.

• Strong collaboration skills: ability to work across teams (procurement, warehouse, engineering, logistics). Proactive problem-solving mindset, high attention to detail, ability to thrive in high-demand, dynamic operational environments.

• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with technical, commercial, and legal stakeholders.

Desirable / Added Advantage:

• Experience or familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization / business intelligence tools.

• Previous exposure to similar roles in oil & gas or large-scale industrial operations.
