Job Summary
The Catering Manager will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the staff canteen, including food preparation, menu planning, inventory management, hygiene control, and staff supervision.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent leadership skills and strong knowledge of food service operations. The ideal candidate must ensure that all meals served meet the company’s standards for quality, nutrition, and presentation while maintaining cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and supervise all catering and canteen activities within the company.

Develop nutritious and balanced menu plans that cater to staff needs and company standards.

Manage catering budgets, food costs, and inventory to minimize waste and ensure efficiency.

Supervise catering staff (chefs, cooks, waiters, and cleaners) and ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.

Monitor food preparation, storage, and service to maintain consistent quality.

Oversee kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and compliance with health regulations.

Source ingredients and supplies while maintaining good relationships with vendors.

Handle staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.

Ensure timely meal service for staff and management during breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts.

Evaluate customer feedback and make continuous improvements to food and service quality.

Prepare periodic reports on catering operations, cost analysis, and food consumption.

Collaborate with the HR and Administration departments to maintain a high level of employee satisfaction with catering services.
Requirements

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Catering and Hotel Management, Food Science, Hospitality Management, or related fields.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role within a reputable organization, hotel, or industrial canteen.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Excellent knowledge of food hygiene, nutrition, and safety regulations.

Ability to design balanced menus and manage large-scale food service operations.

₦250,000 – ₦400,000 per month (depending on qualifications and experience).
