Job Description

The Laundryman will be responsible for washing, drying, pressing, and maintaining all hotel linens, staff uniforms, and guest clothing (where applicable). The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.

• Sort and clean linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry according to hotel standards.

• Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, damage, and quality before delivery.

• Handle guest laundry requests promptly and with care.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.

• Keep track of laundry supplies and notify the supervisor when reordering is needed.

• Follow all health, hygiene, and safety protocols in line with hotel policies.

• Assist other housekeeping staff when required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.

• Basic understanding of washing techniques, detergent use, and fabric care.

• Ability to handle both industrial and domestic laundry equipment.

• Must be organized, attentive to detail, and able to multitask efficiently.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Flexibility to work weekends and shifts as required.

• A minimum of secondary school education (SSCE or equivalent) is acceptable.

Job Type & Work Environment

This is a full-time, hybrid position, meaning the role requires physical presence at the hotel while allowing limited flexibility when duties permit. The Laundryman will report to the Housekeeping or Facility Manager and work closely with the housekeeping and front office teams to ensure smooth laundry operations.
